The Nordic Peace Alliance (NPA) is a network of peace organizations in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. The decisions are made in consensus. The member organizations meet yearly to decide on content and organizational matters in connection with a conference open to all interested. A coordination committee with members elected by the organizations in each country has the reposnsibility between the annual general assemblies.
The overall purpose is to increase the contact and cooperation between Nordic peace organizations and thereby develop and promote a Nordic non-military sustainable peace and security policy. The alliance formulates joint policy statements and resolutions addressed to relevant decision makers as the Nordic Council, organize meetings and seminars, online as well as physical. Member organisations are free to suggest the establishment of working groups and committees, as well as joint initiatives, conferences, webinars, policy statements and resolutions to be discussed and adopted at member organisation meetings.
